Bangkok Day 4 & 5

Let's continue with my Bangkok Day 4 and 5 post.

For Day 4, our plan is to explore Union Mall, Central Plaza and also Asiatique.

The first station is Union Mall. I did a research on the hipster shopping mall that local like to go, and I found out Union Mall at the top of the list.

To go Union Mall, instead of the BTS, we have to use MRT. So, the route is MRT Sukhumvit --> MRT Phahon Yothin. This MRT line also the line that you can go to Chatuchak Market (station Chatuchak Park).

The effect of advertisement made us decide to have our lunch at "The Pizza Company". LOL.
Fatty always been sold to advertisement. Since I've decided all our meals from Day 1-Day 3, I let him to decide for this time.

Service was good, milk tea was too sweet and pizza was just ordinary. :)

After Lunch, we were filled with energy so we started our crazy shopping exercise again.

This was Fatty shopping for his clothes. Too bad his size always ran out of stock. #whyalwayslikethatone

So many shops to break my wallet.
The quality of the clothes is pretty good but the price is slightly higher compare to Platinum Mall / Siam Square and they don't really appreciate bargain.

Next to Union Mall is Central Plaza.
Initially Fatty was planning to find his Football Jersey here and so lucky that we've found out there is After You in Central Plaza.
When we was in Siam Paragon, that franchise was undergoing renovation. I thought I've to give a miss for this already, so I was so happy when I saw this in Central Plaza.
Long Q but I was waiting happily.

HoneyToast + Chocolate Lava Cake
Total damage : around 350baht.

This photo has explained how good the honeytoast was.
No doubt. Well expressed by Fatty.

After our Hi-tea break, we've decided to take a move to Asiatique before the sunset.
We walked to MRT Chatuchak Market, then changed to BTS Mo Chit -- BTS Siam, interchange BTS Saphan Taksin,
Once reached Saphan Taksin, you will see signboard showing how to walk to pier for Asiatique free boat)

On board. Very nice view along the journey.
With mild wind, it was a very relax and we really enjoyed it.

It took around 20-25mins to reach Asiatique.
For us, Asiatique is a very unique place compare to other places we've visited in Bangkok.
Felt so different, hmm, it was like you were not in Bangkok but in Angmo's country.
Very romantic and this was the place I felt so in love.

We had our dinner at Nikuya, a Japanese BBQ buffet restaurant.
Rating for food : 6/10
Rating for environment : 7/10
Total damage : around 1300baht.

Night view for Asiatique.

After our dinner, we took a short walk and did some shopping.
Then, we took BTS again to go back to hotel.

For day 5 (our last day) in Bangkok, nothing much to do because we slept until 11am and all we did was rushing to get ourselves ready and called a taxi to the airport.

Bangkok Day 3

Let me start my Bangkok Day 3 blog with my OOTD. Bought this love shape blouse at Platinum mall, around 150Baht. Nice right?

Our first stop for Bangkok Day 3 is the 4-faced Buddha aka Erawan Shrine. It can be reached via BTS Chit Lom station. Once you reach Chit Lom station, please use Exit 2, just walk straight until you see the Shrine. Don't worry you can always ask the local as this is the one of the most famous tourist spot :)

You may refer to the map when you reach Chit Lom station.
We also used this as the guide to reach the shrine.

"People mountain people sea" at Erawan Shrine.
I didn't survey on how to do the praying.
Hence just did my usual prayer where I hope everyone can be healthy and happy.
Fatty did pray to kena toto, and he did.
So, we are going back end of the year to redeem the vow to the god.

People say if you have a specific wish, and you promise to fulfil the promise with some thing very specific, you wish is very likely to be came true. However, you must back to the Shrine for fulfilment, if not something bad will happen to you.

After Erawan Shrine, we walked back to BTS Chit Lom and move to MBK (BTS Chit Lom -- BTS Siam, interchange BTS National stadium). This is the heaven for Fatty. Through out the whole trip in Bangkok, he told me that he loves MBK the most. We were shopping for his jersey, his shoes, his t-shirt, none for me.

We also had our lunch at the foodcourt in MBK. Not bad I can say, but not the superb yummy kind.
Total damage : Around 350Baht.

After that, we took BTS back to Siam Square. Hehe, here is where I love the most. So many nice and fashionable yet affordable clothes. Fatty bought some superdry T-shirt here too.

After crazily shopping, we went back to Siam Center for some air-conditioning.
The weather in Bangkok really 不是开玩笑的. Very very hot and humid.

After see see walk walk look look and some selfie, we went this Mr Jones Orphanage cafe for our high-tea. Very well-decorated cafe, but too bad, the honest comment for the cakes = so so.

Then, we took a taxi to Chinatown for some local product souvenirs and dinner.
There is a very famous souvenir shop named 林真香.
After that, we went for a very famous restaurant for dinner : T&K Seafood.

These were the dishes we ordered.
Stir-fried morning glory, Lemon steam siakap, omelette, and a coconut.
Total damage : Around 700Baht.

A little stall at the Chinatown street selling pomegranate fruit drink.
The pomegranate drink was so damn good, the small bottle costed us 47baht, a little bit pricey but worth it!

After our dinner, we took a taxi back to Siam Square and we took BTS to Nana for some explorer.
Fatty was looking for some football jersey for his cousin and he googled that Nana has a lot of nice football jersey. However, we found nothing from Nana.

After Nana, we were so tired so we just took BTS back to Asoke and that was our Day 3 in Bangkok.

Bangkok Day 1 + Day 2

We landed at Don Mueng (DMK) International Airport around local time 2pm. Please bear in mind that there are two international airports in Bangkok - Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueng. Airasia flights land in Don Mueng while the others land in Suvarnabhumi.

Me. in the taxi. Costed us around THB 220 to reach our hotel.

The hotel we were staying in - Furama Xclusive - Asoke. Quite convenient though because it is really near to BTS, MRT and also Terminal 21 shopping complex.
The distance was like 5 mins to MRT, 5 mins to BTS and 5 mins to Terminal 21.
Service level = GREAT to the max.
We were encountered weak WIFI signals in our room, after 10mins of the complaint, the hotel staff came up to our room, and brought us a wifi router to put it into our room for better signals. Walao eh, this is exclusive.. really!
Not to say that, they greet us every time they see us, and also help to press the lift when we were back to the hotel with our hands full of shopping bags.
Very nice!
Room rate can be differ due to the season. We booked the room at around RM160 for a night at the not so peak season.
What we were not really happy was just the air-conditional was not really cooling. Did our complaint as usual (ya, we love to complain), and technician has done all sort of checking but it's still a little bit warm.
This was the only bad thing during our stay in the hotel.

This was how our hotel's room look like. Not bad compared to the two we stay during Osaka and Kyoto trip, according to Fatty.

This is the restaurant we went for lunch during our first day in BBK. It's located in Terminal 21, food were really awesome!

We ordered Sambal Vegie, River Prawn Tomyam and also Lemon Steam Sotong!
All were awesomely and perfectly done.
We ranked the food here as Number 1 throughout our trip in BBK.
Please give it a try if you are in Terminal 21.
Price wise just standard. Costed us around RM70 for two persons.

After our lunch, we just spent some time walking around Terminal 21.
This shopping center was designed into different city in each level. Quite nice and interesting thou. Not bad to shop too. If you found something really nice here, please buy it. Perhaps you will never find it after this and you will have to regret.
Just me posting before departure to Hollywood.

Fatty and me. Posting in front of the "Golden Gate Bridge".

Just Fatty busy shopping for his clothes.

Tried MOS burger and hmmm... not up to our expectation.
This was how my burger looked like. Hmm... not really appetising.

Alright, these summed  up our first day in BBK.

Let's continue to our Day 2 entry.

This was me waiting for the train, heading to Siam Square.

This was how the train station looks like. Pretty clean and organised.

The BTS ticket.
To buy the ticket, you have to change paper money into coins. The ticket machine only accept coins.

Walking, heading to Central World. Weather for me was bearable, but for Fatty was just HOT HOT HOT.
(p/s: with my Kate Spade Saturday bag, bought it in Japan, nice right?)

Central World really a big shopping complex, anyhow, not much crowd on the day we went, and we found nothing to shop in here. (at least, not my interest)

Only went to Boots and shopped for "Soap & Glory" hair conditioner.
Tell you, the price for Soap & Glory in Thailand is much cheaper compared to Msia. :)
I'm using the conditioner currently, and the smell is really good!

Had our lunch in NARA, located at Level 7, in Central World.
( got to know this restaurant from Boey's blog.. :p)
While the food was just around expectation, it was a little bit pricey.

Sambal Morning Glory.
Pho. (Beef noodle).
Seriously, I loved the soup very very much!
Another Pho. (Spicy type Beef noodle)

Bangkok Street View.

Resting in Starbucks. hehehe.. Orange Soda was Fatty's and Green Tea Latte was mine :)
Guy's nightmare - Platinum Mall.
Not much of purchasing because most of the clothes are for wholesale.
You have to buy at least 2-3 pieces then only you can get cheaper price.

Then, we took a Taxi from Platinum Mall to Siam Paragon.
Ta ma de, the was a line for us to Q up for Taxi, and there was a coordinator to get Taxi for you.
Was cheated by the coordinator because for a such short distance, the journey took us BTH 200!
Aih... Cant complain anything for this time.

Had our dinner in the famous SOMTAM. Environment was nice, meanwhile the food was just okay.
Their main outlet is located in Siam Square Soi 5, meanwhile the one we went was the branch located in Siam Center.

Somtam means papaya salad.
When the name Somtam, it means the papaya salad is the must try if you are having your meal in Somtam.

They are famous for their fried chicken too!

Had ordered the soup and spicy soup too!

Just me enjoying my food. Yum Yum Yum.

After meal, #letustakeaselfie time. Took a lot photos infront of Siam Paragon. :)

Then, we went to Thong Lor via BTS for the very famour Mango Sticky rice. :)
How to get there?
Take BTS and stop at Thong Lor station, exit Exit 3. Once you walked down, go straight to the junction and turn left and walk straight until you see the shop.

Me again posting infront of whole stack of Mangoes...

That's all for my Day 1 and Day 2 in BBK.

Shall continues for Day 3-5 in later post.

:)
